Mayfield School celebrates remarkable achievement with over 50% top grades
Mayfield School is celebrating another year of outstanding success, with over half of all grades
awarded A* /A or equivalent, reinforcing the School’s reputation for academic excellence.
These exceptional results have secured places for Mayfield’s Upper Sixth students at some of the world's most prestigious universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and the University of Pennsylvania.
From Medicine, Psychology and Zoology to Fine Art, Film, Mathematics and the Sciences, Mayfield girls are now preparing to begin an exciting and diverse range of degree courses that reflect their talents, ambitions and aspirations.
Ava has secured a place at Churchill College, Cambridge, where she will study Human, Social and Political Sciences.
Having joined Mayfield in Year 12, Ava quickly embraced the many opportunities available to her, combining academic excellence with leadership roles across the school community. She served as House Captain of Avila, led the Sixth Form Debate Society, and was Secretary-General of Model United Nations.
Ava's passion for politics and current affairs was reflected in her success as a debater. As part of the Senior Debate Team, she helped Mayfield reach the Finals Day of the prestigious ESU Schools' Mace competition in London.
Reflecting on her time at Mayfield, Ava said: '
I always try to take every opportunity available to me, and I'm grateful that Mayfield gave me so many opportunities to do just that. My advice to younger students would be to try new things, work hard at them and take advantage of an environment like Mayfield, where you are encouraged to challenge yourself and discover new interests.'
Mia will be studying Medicine at University of Nottingham. She joined Mayfield in Year 7 and went on to become a Sport, Art and Academic Scholar.
Looking back over her Mayfield journey, she said: '
I'm so thankful for all of the support from my teachers and friends for the past 7 years. I'm thrilled with my results but more importantly the amazing experiences and opportunities which Mayfield has given me. I feel so prepared to go to University due to the confidence which has been instilled in me.'
Rose has secured a place at the University of Oxford, where she will study History of Art, after achieving two A*s and an A at A Level in English Literature, Textiles and History of Art, alongside an A in her EPQ.
Rose's A Level choices reflected her passion for the arts and humanities, combining creative and academic disciplines and allowing her to develop a deep understanding of art, culture and history. Reflecting on her time at Mayfield, Rose said: '
I am so grateful for my incredible teachers, and I'm truly proud to call myself a Mayfield girl.''
Mabel has secured a place to study Physics at Durham University after achieving an impressive two A*s and two As at A Level in Art, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics'
Having been part of the Mayfield community since Year 7, Mabel made the most of the school's broad academic and co-curricular opportunities. As an Art, Drama and Academic Scholar, she exemplified the combination of creativity and scientific rigour, pursuing both artistic and STEM subjects to a high level throughout her school career.
Reflecting on her time at Mayfield, Mabel said: '
Leaving Mayfield, I'm so grateful that I have had the chance to explore all of my interests and have been given so much support by teachers throughout all my endeavours. I would love to thank my whole year group for being such a loving, chatty, and wholesome group of girls, around whom I've always felt comfortable to be myself from the very beginning. I don't think you can stay anywhere for seven years without it becoming part of you!'
Charmeine has secured a place to study Medicine at the University of Hong Kong after achieving an outstanding four A*s at A Level.
A talented musician as well as an exceptional student, Charmeine embraced the many opportunities available to her at Mayfield, balancing the demands of her academic studies with an active involvement in musical performance. Her achievements reflect both her dedication to her studies and her commitment to making the most of school life.

Alongside preparing me to study Medicine, Mayfield gave me so many incredible musical performance opportunities and space to grow both as a performer and as a person. Thank you to all my teachers and friends who made my time here so unforgettable!'
