Kew College joins Hampton Schools' Trust
The Hampton Schools’ Trust brings together four thriving and highly successful independent schools in South West London to enhance educational opportunities and reinforce a shared commitment to charitable independent education.
The Trust's founding member schools − Hampton, Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep, Kew College Prep, and Newland House School − share common values and provide an exceptional academic and all-round education for their pupils. By joining together as a charitable schools’ group, they will strengthen their long-term sustainability, increase opportunities for pupils and staff, and secure the future of not-for-profit independent education in the area.
Membership of the Trust will allow each school to enhance their existing qualities. While they will work collaboratively within the new structure, each school will retain their own name, leadership, distinctive identity, and character.
For children and families, the Trust will provide continuity and greater educational opportunities, including access to shared facilities, joint initiatives and wider experiences across the Trust’s settings. Families at Kew College Prep and Newland House School will also benefit from new assured place pathways to exceptional senior schools – Hampton for boys, and neighbouring Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) for girls.
As a not-for-profit group, any financial surplus and all fee income will continue to be reinvested directly into the Trust’s charitable aims and its schools, supporting investment in teaching, facilities, opportunities, and pupils’ wider educational experience.
The new Hampton Schools' Trust will also create significant new opportunities for professional collaboration, enabling staff across the group to exchange knowledge, share excellent practice, and benefit from enhanced career progression and development opportunities. The Hampton Schools’ Trust Executive Leadership Group (ELG) will be led by Hampton Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, who commented:
'We are delighted to announce the formation of the Hampton Schools’ Trust − an exciting, progressive and values-led initiative that will ensure an even stronger future for the communities we serve. Our Governors and I, together with the Heads in our family of schools, firmly believe in the ;importance, abiding relevance and moral purpose of charitable independent education. Our collective aspiration is to build on our member schools’ many existing strengths and continue providing exceptional education that always puts pupils before profit.'
