Buzz & Be, Free Weekly Early Years Stay-and-Play Sessions

Burgess Hill Girls is delighted to announce, following a trial over the Autumn and Spring terms, that Buzz & Be, a free weekly stay-and-play programme designed for boys and girls aged 0–4 and their parents/carers is to become a permanent fixture.

Held every Friday during term time, Buzz & Be offers a nurturing, playful environment that supports both early childhood development and parental understanding of the learning process.

Led by the school’s Early Years practitioners, each session features a weekly theme that encourages exploration, communication, physical development, and early problem-solving.

Activities are carefully designed to help children build confidence, curiosity and the essential foundations that make the transition to nursery or school smoother and more enjoyable.Crucially, Buzz & Be is not just for children.

Recognising that parents play a vital role in shaping early learning, the sessions provide families with opportunities to observe teaching approaches, gain practical insights and learn more about how young children develop—physically, emotionally and cognitively. By giving parents the tools and confidence to support learning at home, Buzz & Be strengthens outcomes well beyond the classroom.

Sue Collins, Assistant Head - Prep at Burgess Hill Girls, said:

'We see every day how much more confident and settled children are when they start school with strong early foundations. Equally, parents benefit from understanding how their child learns and how everyday play shapes their development. Buzz & Be brings those two strands together, supporting children while empowering parents.'

The sessions reflect the school’s long-standing commitment to the early years and align with growing national attention on the importance of early childhood experiences. By offering Buzz & Be free of charge, Burgess Hill Girls aims to make high-quality early learning experiences accessible to all local families.

Buzz & Be takes place every Friday between 9.30-10.30 am, at Burgess Hill Girls, and families can book a place by following this link: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GEED
