Camp Kernow

Camp Kernow

Styling itself as an ‘environmental adventure’, Camp Kernow – an award-winning, off-grid camp in Cornwall – will reconnect a frazzled child of today with nature. They sleep in tents or timber-framed structures during their week away – one is even in the shape of a boat, complete with portholes. Most of the fresh food consumed is grown on site, with children helping in the garden. There’s a huge number of (unusual) activities on offer: dusk bat walks, stone carving, silk-screening and ropework. More mainstream ones include kayaking, shelter building and fire lighting. Parents can drop offspring at London’s Paddington Station, where they’ll be escorted via train down to the camp.
