A ‘sleepaway’ camp on the south coast of England, where children can choose from five-day pony, sailing or multi-activity camps. It is charmingly old-fashioned – campers spend their time cycling, making pottery, kayaking and crabbing. No experience is necessary for the sailing or riding options. The three types of camps – for children aged six to 14 – all breakfast together before spending the day with their group, and then get together again at 4pm for treasure hunts, games on the beach, campfires and singalongs. ‘Outdoors’ is the constant theme – campers sleep outside in tents, with loo and shower blocks close at hand.
