The Children's Book Project: how you can help

By Talk Education

If you have a blissful memory of being lost in a book as a child, perhaps you could help gift a similar experience to another…

Across London and the UK, 1 in 4 disadvantaged children owns fewer than ten books, whilst one in eight has none at all.

The Children’s Book Project is a small but mighty charity that directly tackles this ‘book gap’ by gifting beautiful pre-loved books to children with few of their own. Led by a fantastic troop of volunteers, the charity engages with schools far and wide to collect gently used books.  They would hugely value additional support for their autumn campaign – and there are many ways in which you could help:

  • Host a book drive in your school – the charity can provide support and resources
  • Volunteer to sort and pack donated books or staff the ‘free’ book shop in Chelsea
  • Transport books for the charity
  • Bring your team to the warehouse for a team building visit
  • Consider nominating The Children's Book Project as your chosen school charity
  • Simply spread the word!
